Welcome to Louis’ Learnings!

Expect to receive periodic updates documenting my lessons learned in my pursuit of life goals related to health, wealth, and wisdom. You can read the backlog here.

Why do I write this?

Two (main) reasons.

First, writing is thinking. Thoughts isolated in your head are disorganized. By taking the time to write, I can document, organize, and reflect on what’s going on in my mind. As a result, I am a clearer thinker and make better decisions.

Second, writing is teaching. You don’t truly understand a concept until you can explain it. Writing forces this process.

What’s this all about?

My current driving goal can be explained with the mnemonic 3 CI 4 CI.

I aim to leverage Continuous ImprovementCompound Interest, and Cast Iron Principles to achieve Creative Independence. Let me define these terms.

Continuous Improvement: Find ways to get 1% better every day.

Compound Interest: Lean into positive feedback loops. Iterate.

Cast-Iron Principles: Build a rock-solid foundation on the tried-and-true fundamentals in favor of the new and shiny.

Creative Independence: The actual reason people want financial independence. Having autonomy over what you do. Doing what you want to do because you want to do it. Learning what you want to learn.

Get it? 3 CI 4 CI.

Who am I?

My name is Louis Shulman. I am fascinated by self-experimentation, self-education, and self-improvement. I think that now is the best time there’s ever been for learning anything and for using the internet to create leverage.
