Happy Sunday from Scottsdale, AZ ☀️
It’s been roughly 6 months since my last newsletter went out.
If we haven’t personally been in touch since September 5th, hopefully you are doing well!
In the interest of publishing something instead of extending an already prolonged silence, I chose an extremely simple format for this week.
Here’s the 10 bullet highlight reel of the last 6 months.
Moved in to a gorgeous 2-bedroom apartment in Scottsdale, AZ with a lifelong best friend. 10/10 Recommend.
Adopted a Old English Sheep Dog (4 years old) named Winston. (My roommate is the primary caretaker and owner, but I pitch in of course). Photo at the end.
Joined Orbit Metrics in a co-founder role.
Published 17 podcast episodes. These are listed below.
Onboarded a dedicated podcast marketing agency to help me maintain my publishing frequency with less time. (Successful delegation).
Hosted four separate “2-Hour Cocktail Parties.” This has been extraordinarily rewarding for making and maintaining new relationships and is directly responsible for what feels like dozens of awesome new friends in Arizona 🌵
Fitness progress has been steady. Two major accomplishments are flat-bench pressing 100 lb dumbbells (at 159 bodyweight) and finally doing 135 lb strict barbell overhead press (standing). My primary bottlenecks to accelerated progress have been eating enough and navigating mild wrist and knee injuries.
Joined a year long high-ticket coaching program for people building B2B services businesses. I’ve found the investment to be extremely worthwhile thus far.
Have saved incomprehensible amounts of time by working out at the apartment gym, and using Amazon, Instacart, and a local meal prep service to eliminate 99% of food prep effort.
I’ve had countless other neurotic experiments, many failed, many successful. I haven’t reported on them recently, but do not doubt for a second that they are still happening.

Enjoyed the Turning Point USA America Fest conference in Downtown PHX
Appeared as a guest on several great podcasts (6AMRun, ThisThat, ART Lab)
Finally met Scott Mckeon in person (LK Podcast guest and mentor from Australia)
Have continued to disrespect seed oils the very best that I can.
Currently in a no-alcohol phase and finding it to be very rewarding. Likely going to do the full 2023 sober.
Have finally figured out how to use ClickUp effectively. In retrospect, the learning curve was worth it.
Have consumed 3.5, 8 lb tubs of Mass Gainer since November. Somehow managed to lose weight?
Acquired the coveted “Twitter Blue Check” (ie, I bought it for $8 monthly)
Have watched literally 0 TV, Movies, or Sports this year. Extremely confident that I’ve missed nothing.
What’s On The Radar
Highly considering adopting my own dog in addition to the Sheep Dog
Intending to get back into MMA. Very bummed that I’ve allowed this habit to go inactive for this long.
Looking forward to crossing 1,000 subscribers on YouTube
Actively looking to hire a generalist marketing ops assistant (part-time, hybrid).
Aiming for 225 x 5 Bench Press fairly soon.
Areas For Improvement
Wrist/knee injury management. Not being stupid. Need to see a PT or doc or something.
Striking the balance of using LinkedIn/Twitter/Instagram constructively without being too distracted.
Managing compulsive checking of YouTube Studio Analytics, Slack, iMessage, DMs and Emails
Eating enough food to facilitate strength gains.
Finding time for writing (taking less than 6 months for the next issue).
Effective self management: mainly prioritization (doing the most important thing first) and delegation of work that I don’t need to be the one executing.
