My Ten “Most Impactful” Lessons from 2024

A concise summary of the video for the skimmers👇

1. Avoid Broad Brushes

   Use extreme caution when generalizing from limited experience.

2. Simple Scales, Complex Fails
   Stick with simple, repeatable systems.

3. Buy Back Your Time
   Hire to get work off of your plate before hiring for new growth initiatives.

4. Manage Your Expectations
   Activities that are only fruitful 10% of the time can still be tremendously worthwhile.

5. A Handful of Mentors on Repeat
   Pick a few trusted mentors. Revisit their advice obsessively.

6. Don’t Escape Alone
   I’m dangerously prone to overdoing anything remotely entertaining (fiction, social feeds, chess, etc). Making entertainment social resolves most of this challenge.

7. “Tuesdays are for Twitter”
   A temporary truce in my ongoing battle for a calm mind without living under a rock.

8. We Don’t Learn From Experience.
   Instead, we learn from reflecting on experience.

9. Pick What You Can Stick With
   Duration beats intensity every time.

10. It’s Neither Good Nor Bad
    Apparent good news can quickly turn sour. And vice versa.
